May 17: Rumba Lesson and Rap Agency

After attending our first Rumba, Dr. Marouan arranged for us to take a Rumba lesson with Jose. Jose not only taught us the fundamentals of Rumba , but also how to play instruments as well. Below are pictures of our lesson.

During our visit to the rap agency we were able to meet some very popular Cuban rappers and discuss a number of interesting topics. We learned that through their music they are able to speak to social issues in Cuba despite the hindrance of censorship. Below are flyers for events that were held during our stay.
